Got a ClearStream2 antenna from Costco really cheap… like $60… normally $80, I think, so we bought two. ![]()
It’s working perfectly.
Good-bye cable TV. Hello completely free TV.
We are 15 miles from Mt. Wilson, which is where all the TV (and radio) towers are located, so placing the antenna inside the living room window, pointed out the window directly at the towers seems to work the best.
We are getting 60 + + channels (who wants to count how many… not me!), some of which are HD, very similar to what most people probably get with a very “basic cable” deal from a cable company, but the cost of this antenna is the only “cost” involved. BTW, I am using a Blu-ray player for the tuner… works fine, too.
Now, since I no longer have a cell phone and I am still trying out a USB modem for my WIFI internet and “telephone” for $45 a month (including the $5 insurance), once I get this all set up, my total cost for everything should be $45 a month.
I love technology, especially when it is free or cheap.
