Please play along with me.
For this first Stereoscopic Principles Demonstration, we will need:
1) One Sony Bloggie 3D Camera (or the equivalent) and tripod.
2) One large plane of glass, placed exactly 32 inches away from the camera.
3) One Designated Near Point, the same distance away from the camera as the glass plane.
4) One bag of balloons.
5) Water.
