<strong>Stereoscopic Reality</strong>
As I said, .5% positive parallax will produce zero eye divergence on screen sizes up to about 40 feet wide (40 ft * .5% = 2.4 inches), and as we know, a stereoscopic shot with 2.8% to 3.8% stereoscopic net deviation will produce a cubic illusion with any horizontal field of view (from any seat).
I'm still getting down to details, but with .5% positive parallax, the real object that is placed at zero parallax (at the screen) is about 13 feet away from the Bloggie (with far point at infinity). An ortho rig, i.e., one with a 2.5 inch interaxial (left/right eye separation) and the same hFOV (and far point at infinity) is about 3x that... close to 40 feet from the camera. That's much closer to the camera than I would have guessed, and obviously why .5% positive parallax doesn't look weird in any way.
